My Philosophy:

My goal is to empower you to flourish. I believe flourishing requires more than the absence of suffering—it’s about living your life to the fullest. As an integrative psychiatrist, I take a holistic approach to address the root cause of your suffering and integrate a variety of modalities to maximize your flourishing and longevity. Your path to flourishing is unique, and I’m here to help you realize your full potential with compassion and make life-long improvements to your well-being.

  • The first step in our work together is alleviating pain and suffering. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, or another mental health challenge, I focus on providing relief so you can begin to feel more grounded and present. Addressing these issues is essential, but it’s just the beginning of a deeper process toward flourishing.

  • Flourishing is deeply personal so together we’ll define what flourishing looks like for you. It  often includes feeling happy, energized in the things you do, having a sense of purpose, accomplishment, and feeling connected to yourself and in your relationships. I understand that when you’re in pain, it’s natural to lose focus on these things but I believe parallel effort here enhances your resilience, accelerates your healing, and ultimately leads to you living life to the fullest.

  • As an integrative psychiatrist, I believe in addressing the root causes of suffering, not just the symptoms. This means taking a holistic approach to your well-being, where we explore how different aspects of your life—your mental and physical health, relationships, lifestyle, and your sense of purpose—come together to impact how you feel and function. You will start to feel better early in our work together but to heal from your core and create lasting, positive change in your life, our work will incorporate lessons from your childhood and defining life experiences.

  • I recommend medications only when alternatives have not worked and the potential to reduce your suffering is clear. I always offer different options and if we start a medication, we monitor both the benefits and any potential side effects very closely. My approach is to use the lowest dose that is effective while maintaining your creativity, cognitive performance, and emotional connectedness. My goal is always to minimize side effects and ideally use medications only temporarily, empowering you to build resilience and ultimately rely more on your own strengths and the tools we develop together.

  • I believe that everyone is fundamentally good inside. But damaging life experiences lead people to develop survival tactics, ways to cope that ultimately trap people in their suffering. I will help you see these damaging patterns, and together we will extinguish these and build healthy ways to navigate life. As your partner, I will hold you accountable, but with kindness and unconditional positive regard, with each step in your journey.

Areas of Focus:

I help adults from all walks of life with various mental health challenges but I specialize in supporting:

Professionals, executives, and startup founders: I can help you realign with your values, sharpen your thinking and reach conviction in your decisions, deepen your collaborative relationships and improve work life balance by working smarter, not harder.

Adults in immigrant families: I can empower you to find your identity and voice, and start living according to your values while reconnecting with your emotions and setting healthy boundaries with your parents and in-laws.

Grandparents or Parents of adult children: I can help you reconnect with your values in your new stage in life, be closer to your children and grandchildren, and optimize your diet, sleep, and exercise for longevity.

Overall Approach:

My approach is intentionally active and practical, in contrast to most talk therapies which are often passive. This is how I help you achieve results and make durable improvements in your life, not just a better understanding of yourself.

Step 1: Clearly define the issue you’re working on or outcome you’re trying to achieve.

Step 2: Collaborate on a framework and strategy that is aligned with your values, including cultural considerations, that addresses the root cause.

Step 3: Empower you by teaching you practical skills and tools so you can make progress between our sessions. This is where medication can be one of many tools in your toolkit.

Integrative Modalities:

As an integrative psychiatrist, I combine conventional psychiatry with complementary modalities to address the whole person. Below are some of the tools we can use as we get to the root cause of your suffering and collaborate on your personalized journey to flourishing.

  • When I start working with people, sleep is often disrupted. The benefits of talk therapy and medications often take time to reap but there are many tools we can start applying from day one to improve sleep. Improved sleep does wonders for mood, creativity, cognitive performance and physical health, and creates a strong foundation for your healing, which is why we always start with sleep restoration.

  • I start by listening to you and hearing your story. Based on your goals, I give you concrete tools to help you understand yourself and free yourself from negative patterns. Based on your needs, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), Relational Life Therapy, Internal Family Systems and other evidence-based therapies.

  • I can help you find and optimize the best medication regimen that helps you feel better while maintaining your creativity, cognitive performance, and emotional connectedness. I prescribe the lowest dose that is still effective, and ideally only on a temporary basis, so you can learn and practice the skills to reduce your suffering and free yourself from the root cause of your emotional pain.

  • As part of your holistic care plan, I recommend supplements which include vitamins, minerals, natural hormones or signaling molecules your body already uses, or medicine derived from herbs and plants. I prescribe supplements from producers that undergo rigorous third party testing to verify that the active ingredient and dose is accurate and tested for contaminants. I also check to ensure no dangerous interactions exist between the medications and supplements you’re taking.

  • Your nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, and work-life balance all impact your well-being. Together, we’ll create sustainable changes that align with your goals, helping you build a foundation of healthy routines that support both your mental and physical health.

  • In addition to the standard lab tests, I recommend functional tests to uncover imbalances or deficiencies that may be impacting your mental and physical health, such as hormonal imbalances, inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, or metabolic dysfunction. These insights help us tailor your treatment plan more precisely, addressing the root cause or contributors of your symptoms.

  • The mind and body are deeply interconnected, and healing often requires addressing both. I integrate mind-body practices like mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork to help you reduce stress, improve emotional connection, and cultivate a sense of inner calm.

  • As a serial entrepreneur and executive, as well as drawing from my work with various executive coaches, I can help you grow as a leader, refine your leadership frameworks, and maximize productivity for yourself and your team. I’m a big believer in the Conscious Leadership approach combined with emotional intelligence. If you are already working with an executive coach, with your permission, I can collaborate with them to accelerate both your professional and personal growth.

  • My PhD and ongoing research has given me a deep understanding of what truly impacts longevity, from cellular function to overall well-being. I can help you apply interventions that will make the biggest difference in both your lifespan and healthspan. My approach aligns most with longevity expert, Peter Attia, MD who cites my PhD lab’s foundational discoveries in longevity.

FREE Consultation

I offer a free 20 minute consultation video call to learn more about you and your goals to see if we would be a good fit. If you’d like to schedule a consultation call with me, click here.

  • This is our opportunity to get to know each other a little bit deeper. Prior to our appointment, you will receive a comprehensive questionnaire about your goals, life journey, and your mental and physical health history. I will review your responses in detail so I can spend the majority of our session listening to you and focusing on what matters most to you.

By the end of the session, we will have a clear idea of initial goals to work on, how to start alleviating your suffering, including how to get better sleep, and discuss potential diagnoses if that’s important to you. We will sketch a care plan that aligns with your values and culture, and includes recommendations across the integrative modalities that fit your needs best. Even if you are in pain, I will recommend small steps you can take towards your flourishing goals.

    75 minutes: $1,500

  • This initial assessment is designed for ambitious leaders, people with complex medical conditions, or people who want a comprehensive and customized longevity plan.

It includes everything in the Flourishing Essentials as well as dedicated time to discuss your goals for growth as a leader, optimizing performance, and longevity.

We will discuss during our consultation call which initial assessment would be best for you.

    100 minutes: $2,000

  • Your needs are unique and so will be your healing and flourishing journey. In our follow-up appointments, I will follow your lead and we will review what’s most important to you in that moment. Typically, we will be reviewing example scenarios related to your goals, which often connect to past experiences, assessing benefits or potential side effects from medications, reviewing lab test results, answering any questions you may have, and revising your care plan to meet your evolving needs and progress.

The majority of my follow-up appointments are 50 minutes and can range weekly to monthly. My 25 minute follow-up appointments are typically for people who are stabilized, have made substantial progress with their goals, and have an optimized medication regimen.

    50 minute follow-up: $1,000
    25 minute follow-up: $750

***Please note that I do not accept insurance but I partner with Reimbursify, which will submit out-of-network claims automatically for you to your insurance provider for partial reimbursement after you’ve met your out-of-network deductible. Using Reimbursify’s Verification of Benefits tool, we can discuss how much you can expect to be reimbursed during our free consultation call.

Being an out-of-network provider allows me to offer a better experience and better care, including longer appointment times, direct communication with me, streamlined scheduling with better availability, use of integrative approaches, and more personalized attention without the administrative burden associated with insurance companies.

If your company has a coaching or professional development budget, I can also create a generic coaching bill for you to get reimbursed without disclosing any health information.
